Spring Break in Washington DC

After going to our Nation's Capitol for work-related business, I decided to take the Family to see the Capitol for themselves. We drove to New York first to celebrate Easter with my family and then drove down to Washington a few days later. We picked the perfect time to be there: Cherry Blossom time! DC is absolutely stunning this time of year as both the dogwoods and cherry trees are in full bloom. We saw the trees and toured the city on a trolley ride. We also hit many of the Smithsonian museums. Sophie's favorite was the museum of Natural History, although she'll tell you she preferred the International Spy Museum. We also toured all of the War Memorials...very interesting indeed. The Vietnam Memorial was very sobering, while the WWII Memorial was very inspiring.

We has so much fun that we didn't mind the 15 hour drive there and back. Perhaps its because he hadn't spent any time together in so long!
