Christmas In New York

Santa came to Rochester, NY, which is good, since that's where we were. It was a crazy, but great day that started with a small traditional Spicci Christmas eve dinner, Midnight mass, a little sleep, then presents in the morning. For those of you never to have experienced the Spicci Christmas eve dinner, it consists mostly of grazing....shrimp, various Italian delicacies, various American treats....you know, the stuff you really should eat a lot of, but do anyway. Mom decided to make cocktail weenies....and I don't know why. They never did get made in time, which is fine, because I think the night would have been forever known as 'The night Aimee got sick on Christmas eve from looking at a bowl of cocktail weenies'. On Christmas morning Sophie received a bunch of electronic goodies from Santa, including Rock Band. Mom and Dad gave Sophie her first full-sized acoustic guitar and the tradition 'clothing' gifts. Later in the day, the Spicci clan came over for a traditional meal of prime rib (the official Spicci Christmas Dinner) and exchanged gifts. Mom's new house is only 1,200 sq. feet; we had 7 Grand kids and 8 adults for dinner. When you factor in the Christmas buzz the kids were experiencing it was quite the night! We never did see Mom's cats. They were the only ones that could hide from the madness!
